Default Fade weirdness!

When fading a file, audio unconnected to the file Im fading appears in the fade. This problem is intermittent ie sometimes the fade is fine other times its got unrelated audio in it. This gives rise to very odd sounding fades. Has anyone else experienced this serious bug? Anyone in Digitech got an explanation?

Fades have been known to freak out sometimes, but not like that. Do you have multiple takes under that track where it may be 'crossfading'?

Simple test, delete your fade folder and reload the session and see if that fixes it.

Unfortunately it has happened to me in many sessions. Its very annoying if I have a batch of fades to do and select a track of say 30mins of audio and do an apple + f on it to find out I have to go back and do them all manually. THere would never be multiple takes underneath any of the files that freak out either.

You don't have to recreate the fades.
Simply delete the Fades folder content and let PT regenerate them automatically when the session is re-opened.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will start deleting the fade files folder when this happens but im still nowhere closer to solving the problem long term.

Any other users having this problem?

Have you trashed preferences? When I get weird behaviour, the first thing I do is to trash preferences and digi databases, then repair permissions and restart the computer.

Yep Ive done all that, this has been happening over quite a period of time now, its just really starting to bother me big time. Im working on a large project right now and it is happening mainly to the fade in of regions. I have no clue why this is happening!

Digitech any ideas?

I have realised now that the odd fade behaviour happens more in grid mode which is the mode I spend most of my time in. I am now in slip mode and will see if any of the odd fade inserts happen again. report to follow.......!

It has been confirmed by two straight hours of making fades in both slip and grid that the odd fade behaviour only happens in grid mode. If anyone else can replicate this I would be interested to hear about it.
