Default Audio recording out of time

This would occasionally happen prior to 10.3.2, but it seems to happen all the time in this version. Every piece of audio I record is about a thousand samples late. Anyone else have this problem? Really annoying. Using a Symphony I/O. Been recording at 1024, using the no latency mixer...haven't tried to drop the buffers to see if it still appears late. I'll give it a shot. Surely I'm not the only one this is happening to.

Is delay comp on? Using plug-ins? Aux tracks?

Yes - delay comp is on max. But no plugs are on the channel.

What happens when you turn off delay comp?

In the I/O dropdown, do you have the "compensate for input delay" checked?

Not using pt hd, so I don't believe that option is there. It's really weird, though. This happens sometimes, and then won't happen the next time I record. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason...

I would UNcheck Delay Compensation while tracking and don't use plugins that have lots of latency(because you will hear this audio late, which will place your new audio late). How ADC works is; it makes everything LATE to match the track that has the most latency(total of all plugins on a given track). So if you have a mastering limiter on the master track, and it has 1000 samples of latency, now all your new audio could be out of time. I know its SUPPOSED to be simple and automatic, but its really not quite that simple(for us to always grasp, or for software to always handle properly). My tracking template has lots of high-latency plugins built into it, BUT they are made inactive by default(I activate them when it comes time to mix).

Hello,

I dont have an answer for you but I am having the same problems (although it seems as though it is session dependant).

Some sessions that I open in PT 10.3.6, when I record, the audio is stretched and weirdly out of time. However, some sessions I can open and they are fine, I can record and the audio is in time (as much as my playing is )

I have delay compensation on in the sessions that work and the sessions that dont work (as well as Wave CLA, L3 and superior drummer running). I have resorted to re-recording the sessions.

Weird!

Pete

Recently ran into the same issue on a native PT rig with an aggregate I/O setup. Removing the aggregate and reverting to the Avid mbox driver fixed the issue. Perhaps you might look into resetting your i/o and/or a fresh uninstall/reinstall.

best,
rich

Hi Rich, sorry if this is stupid question but how do you remove an aggregate (what is an aggregate?)
