Re: McDSP Analog Channel for tracking
Hello all,
the demo of Analog Channel is now available on our web site. It will operate for 30 days from first use - note the differences in the demo (vs. the full version) as per the 'Demo Readme' in the files included with the demo. Thanks for all the great support - look forward to seeing many of you at the upcoming digiworlds this summer! Colin McDowell McDSP, LLC member 4/23/2001 |

Re: McDSP Analog Channel for tracking
Blake,
checked out the audio (piano plus female vocals). Here's some 'warming' tips that come to mind... 1) Use an AC2, MCI playback head (USA-M type). Set the Roll Off freq to around 100 Hz (its vocals!), with a head bump between 50 and 75. Now the mids are scooped (warmth), some low end is there to give beef (although there is probably not too much signal there anyways). Not knowing that the level of the vocal tracks are, be sure they are floating between -12 dB and 0 dB. Then over bias - will cause some high freq loss, increase tape compression. Use 15 ips for moderate hi freq loss - switch to IEC1 if the bass bump is too much. You may want to pre EQ (I like FilterBank) the vocal to insure most of the sibilance is there initially. 2) AC1 - lots of drive, really fast attack, moderate release. These 'dsp thoughts' are somewhat general. Good luck! Colin 4/25/2001 PS-> You might want to EQ the piano out the way of the vocal too. |
