Mmmm... gonna need a little more info. First, can you inport your bounced files back into PT and hear them? If not, it sounds like you are not bouncing completely correctly. Do you hear the track play properly during the bounce? If so, there's most likely something wrong with the burning process. If you can't hear the track play during bounce, then maybe you have your tracks muted?
It would be easier to answer if you could describe your process starting from your bounce.

..also make sure you don't have Low Latency Mode enabled while bouncing.. and on an MBox that you have the Mix knob set all the way to Playback while mixing and bouncing.

Try a 6 band EQ, C4 and the L2 on the master fader. Sounds like your levels are not high enough and you are probably not mastering the thing. Mastering is a whole new ballgame and usually is done by a mastering house. It is a litle hard to tell what you have and have not done. Please supply more details to us if you can.

That is what it sounds like to me though.

also, if you were to take your song to a mastering house, you WOULD NOT put those plugs on the master fader, but get it to where it sounds good and then bounce it CLEAN with no Compression or anything on the MASTER FADER only. You can run the stuff on all other faders, but when you have it mastered, you keep it clean so they can jazz it up for ya.

What plugs do you have? Waves Platinum is a good one to get if you do not have it. Expensive, but worth it!

Hope that this helps?

I am basically mixing rough mixes then bouncing them so I can give to a fellow musician. The bounced session on newly burned CD is so soft i have to turn up ALOT to hear at normal volumes. I hear the tracks play while they are getting bounced.I have a master fader which shows my output levels? I think.Everything sounds fine except overall level on burned CD.C4 AND THE L2?I am very new at PT so please elaborate on those.I am running few basic plug ins as I am currently in a writing phase such as Amplitude,EQ thats about it.Finally I have digi 002 rack not mbox.

I don't mean to offend you, but since you made the above staement i think it justifies this questions
does the master fader have good signal ? Is it almost to the top ? I fnot then set it so it is

second are you using itunes or some other player program with a graphic eq ? if so set these to flat And
make sure there is no altering of the ovarall level here .

the meters are not redlining but up there.I am unable to adjust this metered level. protools will not let me bring meters up any more then their restricted level which seems to be(from this meters stand point)acceptable. How should my master fader be setup for what I am looking to do ?Maybe I am not setting my master fader correctly.I am using winamp to burn CDS and my eqs are flat.

this statement is vague are we talkin 90 of the way

try gettin it in the red once in a wahile type of clip and then slap a limiter on just to keep it from peaking

bounc that as a 16 bit 44.1 stereo interleaved file burn

if this fails i have reason to believe that the pro tools process is not the culprit

let me know ?

Leave your master fader at 0.0 dB.

Add a compressor and a limiter to the master fader, and don't go into the red on the master fader.

Hope this helps.

the meters are 90%.I bounce at 16 bit, 44.1, stereo interleaved. When I get the meters in the red protools wont let it stay there and automatically adjusts to around 90%.it is starting to sound like it is my CD burnin software.
