Default PT8: BFD Lite: Error 7054: Missing MSVCR70.dll: Plug-in Stopped Functioning

[I've searched this high and low, I get nothing, so I'm posting.]

BFD 1.5 Lite *was* working. Then my hard drive crashed (Dell replaced it, and I was able to recover the old data (thanks to Seagate) before sending old one back to Dell) and after that, only BFD Lite did not work. Of course, I uninstalled/reinstalled, which was recommended by the error popup itself. Nada - still errors. Deleted the prefs file as directed by fxpansion, nada. Searched for MSVCR70.dll, found it for 2 or 3 other media apps, but not for BFD Lite.

So basically what happens is I'm in an instrument track, I go to select BFD just like any other PT8 plugin (I've changed to other plugins before and after trying BFD), the popups say:

"This application has failed to start because MSVCR70.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." Then:
"The plug-in could not be made active because a DAE error was encountered (error #-7054)."
And then a greyed-out tag name displays in the slot.

Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for your help.

Just for assurance, uninstall, then go & manually delete the FXpansion BFD folder...re-install(Plugin 1st then Data) Open PT as normal, try & open it, get the error again, close PT & the Go in ur SYSTEM32 folder & delete the following 2 folders... com.fxpansion.dll & fxpansion.shared yada yada...(can't recall them verbatim but u will see them in there)...

Hey, thanks for the quick reply. Ok, so I followed your recommendation up til I went to the system 32 folder. I tediously combed through both folders and files, looking for the phrases you named plus a few other variations like "bfd" "fx" etc. I only found a 'com' folder, but nothing in that folder like what you mentioned. I took a step back and did explorer searches in C for variations of the same, but there was nothing besides the audio & related files, and the bfd dll in DAE common files. Thanks for being willing to help. Matthew

After re-installing did u open it up & get the error again?.. & no need to search for them as they will only be in the Windows/System32 folder when they appear...

Yes, I followed each step you mentioned, and the error did re-occur. I also put other plugins on the track before and after trying it. I did not reboot - I'll try that, too JIC. // Tried reboot, didn't solve it. I'm guessing it wouldn't have anything to do with instrument assignment.
