Audio from LE8 session turned into pink noise @ playback, files in folder play fine

I had a strange problem, the session from someone else opened up but instead of audio there was noise. If I did browse these audio files with Workspace they played fine. Also I tried importing tracks from the session into another referring to original files and it was still resulting in pink noise. Only got it going after importing tracks and copying the audio files to new location.

What was that all about?

Sounds like some kind of file/session corruption. Maybe a situation where deleting databases, and preferences might help. Or possibly an incompatible plugin. Sounds like you found a good workaround though.
