PT Records Automation every time I press play no matter what!
This has been driving me crazy since updating to ProTools 8.
I try something to see how it sounds. I "undo" so I can hear how it was before. I try to "redo" it but I can't- because Protools recorded automation while I was playing. I didn't touch anything! Basically every time I press play I lose my entire redo queue, even though I haven't done anything to the session. I've tried changing some of the preferences but nothing seems to change it. I even un-enabled my control 24, so it's not that that's sending automation info to PT. Anyone else having this problem? Any thoughts on how to resolve it? Thanks! -Mike |

What automation mode is your track in, exactly? Read? Write? Touch? Latch?

Re: PT Records Automation every time I press play no matter what!
Mike,
Just a guess here: There's a preference called "Include control changes in undo queue." De-select it - it's ON by default. It's not recording automation, just adding everything you do to the undo list.. peace Rob Burrell aka mixboy |
