Firmware not updating

I have a new MacPro and just upgraded to Pro-Tools 7.1.1 everytime I try to open Pro-Tools it tells me I need to update my firmware. When I click update the status bar gets about halfway done and then displays a message saying that the update was unsuccessful and to check my connections. I have restarted the computer numerous times, uninstalled and reinstalled Pro-Tools and it still gives me the same message. Any ideas?

Try a different FireWire cable and port.

You may have the power harness issue. Would you believe that I have fixed about twenty 002/Racks with new harness/PSU kits, but have still yet to do my own.

I notice that my 002 is particularly vunerable to drop outs when updating firmware. I have not seen this behaviour anywhere near as often on 002's with the latest revision PSU's and harness kits.
