CDs of bounced files won\'t play on PC
I've been making CDs of my PT projects. I bounce to file, then burn in Toast. The CDs play fine on Macs, as well as boomboxes, CD players, etc but will not play on PCs. When I put the CD in a PC (98 and XP) it sees it as a blank disc.
I'm using PT LE 5.2 on a Mac. Burning with Toast Titanium. I tried WAV files, AIFF, and SDII, no difference. Of course, this could be a Toast problem, but I thought I'd check here first. Thanks |

Re: CDs of bounced files won\'t play on PC
try making them 16 bit files if your doing them as 24 bit

Thanks for the reply.
The original file is 16b and I bounce to 16b. |

Re: CDs of bounced files won\'t play on PC
I just bought Toast Titanium (with Jam 6) but haven't burned anything with it yet. With the older versions of Toast, you had to make sure you were using the Disc At Once (DAO) mode instead of Track At Once (TAO) or many CD players and/or burners couldn't read them. There should be a similar option in Toast Titanium. Newer boomboxes, etc can read TAO discs, but maybe the PC can't.
Is it several PCs, or just one?

I was going to say the same thing lwilliam - use the DAO (Disc at once) preference and make sure you close the disc so no more sessions can be added (this under the 'advanced' tab in toast's burn window).

I think it's a PT issue, not Toast. May be something to do with how I'm creating the initial session. I've been using SDII mostly, which doesn't allow the "enforce Mac/PC compatibility" option. (Although I did create a session with AIFF the other day, and I checked the "enforce..." option. No go on the PC, still.) It's a problem with several PCs, Win98 and XP machines. Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it. |

Re: CDs of bounced files won\'t play on PC
FWIW, if the burned CD's play on regular audio devices but not the PC, and factory audio CD's play on your PC, it seems to me that it isn't a formatting problem, but possibly one of physical contrast between 0's and 1's on the burned CD.

Re: CDs of bounced files won\'t play on PC
You could try burning at a slower speed (1x, 2x, etc).
