Can't get 002 WDM driver to work

Running on XP SP 1, I can't get the system to recognize the WDM drivers (wave / direct sound).

The ASIO drivers work fine in pro tools and Sonar but I can't select them as a playback device in windows.

I've talked 3x to Digi tech support with no luck. At this point, I've installed 6.1.2, updated to 6.4, manually deleted all drivers and uninstalled everything, repeated the entire installation, etc.

Playback and recording work great through ASIO but WDM is not being recognized.

Drivers for third party apps have been covered here too many times...try the search.

I don't consider the standard windows playback device to be a 3rd party app. I did a search and found nothing. Any suggestions on a search string?

WDM yields little. WAVE returns a bunch of unrelated stuff...

"Windows Driver Model" , aka WDM has nothing to do with Protools , and as a matter of fact I do not think it is at all related to Windows XP.
What is your problem exactly ?
If you are planning to play audio out through the Digi hardware, only the wavedriver and the ASIO driver supplied by Digidesign will work.

It's the wave driver I'm talking about. It doesn't show up in the audio dialog. (Read the original posting)

Have you tried reinstalling JUST the wavedriver?

The ASIO driver gets installed by default, but if I remember correctly, I think the wavedriver needs to be installed separately. (It's been so long since I've done it, I forget)

List all the apps in MME Helper on your system.

However, I don't see what this has to do with the issue. The issue is that the digi-002 does not appear as an option in the Sounds and Audio Devices property sheet on the Audio Tab's default device combo box. If it doesn't show up there, the apps that are listed in mmehelper are irrelevant.
