Default Lucid 9624

How does the Lucid 9624 come in to play? I have a Xp30 keyboard,Tr rack and a MPC 2000XL, which all have stereo outs. How do I run them into the Lucid 9624? I can only afford one ?? and I want to know which one I should purchase?

I think the Lucid is stereo in and stereo out. You need more I/O if you want to track each synth seperatly. You could get one of these http://www.rolandus.com/products/det...ProdID=M-1000. But that would put up to four inputs on one stereo. You would have to do your mixing on the roland.

But you wouldnt get the same quality conversion as in the Lucid... - I surpose that was what you were after....right?

The new RME unit is worth a look too.
They are s'posed to have improved the clocking dramatically.
This could possibly bring them up to the Lucid level.
Still not upto Apogee though. And most deffinately not up to Mytek, Lavry etc

I've always been quite impressed with RME converters for the price-point.

Oh, and you'll have to submix all those instruments on a small mixer before you hit the converters.

That's what the Roland is for it has 4 s/pdif inputs mixed down to 1 s/pdif output. There is no conversion with this unit. Digital in digital out.

I could be reading his original post wrong, but I'm assuming that those units are analogue out?
