Default iTunes configuration problem with Digi 002

Hi - I am a new Pro Tools user and new to these boards, and I wasn't hoping someone could help me with my issue.

I just setup my Digi 002 and installed Protool 6.7 on my PC running XP. Pro Tools works fine, but now when I open my iTunes, I get an error message saying that there is an issue with the audio & video settings and that playback may be an issue. If I click okay, iTunes opens up fine, but I can't play any music out of it (I can still import new music and sync my iPod). Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can fix this?

Thanks so much for any help.

JK

Well, you need Quicktime installed as well but I am not convinced it will solve your iTunes issue. iTunes has often had issues with Digi hardware. The best solution is to route iTunes out your motherboard's sound card(or add a cheapo soundcard) and patch it to the Alt inputs of the 002. Hit the Alt to Mon button to listen to any sounds OTHER than Pro Tools audio.

Thanks. I thought Quicktime was already installed, but I am going to try reinstalling now...

Tried it, but no dice. Does anyone else have any suggestions? If not, I guess I'll have to buy another sound card. In which case, do I have to do anything to configure so that iTunes knows to use the sound card?

I just got rid of an old B#$%inger mixing desk that I used to use for routing my sound card and Digi 002 (great move, btw), and I just simply took the audio from my PC's sound card and ran it right into the alt source on the 002. No configuration at all.
