I'm a PC user from the early DOS days and I've decided to take the plunge and buy a 15" 1 ghz Powerbook with 1 GB of RAM. They seem to be the best laptops available from any manufacturer IMHO, and the fact that I don't have to stress about chipsets, firewire controllers, etc...
Anyway, I just wanted to get a feel of how many tracks I can record at once, how many tracks I can expect to play back with plugins, blah, blah. I'm getting an 002 when digi releases PT 6.x.x for OS X and I need at least eight in with the hopes of doing 16 with the ADAT option. Will the powerbook perform these tasks or should I look at getting a dual G4 and a rackmount kit, which I really don't want to do because that's not the type of portability I had in mind.
