Default 96 I/O-Optical (SPDif) and AES simultaneously?

Am I missing something or is it just impossible to use the AES I/O AND the SPDIf (optically) at the same time on a 96 interface? I'm trying to connect my MacPro opticial I/O and an AES reverb to my 96 I/O at the same time.

Tim
