I'm running Intel Pro Mac Quad Core. I had to to archive and re-install the system. Upon completion, Pro Tools LE would no longer launch and the lights on the Mbox 2 would no longer light. I downloaded the 7.3.1cs4 upgrade but this did not solve the problem. I know other have had this issue but I cannot seem to find a solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated. As always, these issues come up on Friday after tech-support has closed.

I have very similar problem. When I try to launch Pro Tools, the icon of PT in dock starts jumping but that's all. After few seconds that jumping is over. PT has worked for me very well on this computer with this system. I tried to uninstall PT and install it again with all updates but it didn't help.

I would start by clicking on the Compatibility link at the top of the DUC, and see the Compatibility Alert section on that page with the link to the Mac OS X pre-binding script. That would be the most common reason for Pro Tools launch failure.

OK. Thanks! But as I wrote, my Pro Tools worked on my computer. So, I think that problem is elsewhere.

I followed every instruction in that section but it didn't help me at all. Anything else?

I tried the pre-binding fix and that DIN NOT clear up the problem.
Any other ideas? Tony |

I'm having the same strange behaviour, icon bouncing but nothing more happening. I got it after shutting down PT and switching off the 002 by forgetting to unmount the harddrive that was connected to the 002. Uninstalling in both ways and installing again did't help. (Never had this before, PT was always working fine)
Started disk utility and checked permissions, some were wrong so I corrected them-same problem. But a verify of the disk said ther was some damage.... Am working on this now.. What about your disk permissions? |

Okay, so I reinstalled Pro Tools and it all works again but I no longer have 7.3.1cs3, it's back to 7.1.1. I tried reactivating per email from digi - no go. Man they don't make it easy do they.
