What it means you can use an 192 without DD card solo, but cannot sync it to another one via Loop Sync. If you had a master clock feeding your ext.clock input it would not care about DD card, but if you have problem loop syncing interfaces my best educated guess would be a broken DD card on one of the boxes.

That's a good point^^^ so the next step in troubleshooting is to fully test each 192 with the other disconnected. It may also be worth looking at the hardware setup page for each single unit to see if that mismatch of sample rates changes for either box.

so, i just made a little test.
launch the mac with each 192 connected individually while the other one was off : it all work perfectly


i am starting to suspect some software bug in the in I/O setup while both are connected (?)


Regarding the sample thing rate i noticed it had to be set manually

Solo 192 should work perfectly even with a defected DD card but if the two do not work together (daisy-chained I assume) you have two possibilities. Either one of your clocking cables is broken or one of your DD cards is broken. Sorry. Troubleshooting possibly broken clocking cable is easy and cheap, but once you have done that your only option is to buy another (2nd hand) DD card and swap it to one or another box until it starts working.

It might be the cable that you use between the two units....there is a slight problem with the ground pin on the older cables - I would try a replacement of that before stressing over other things..

okay this might take quite some time before i get me a new digilink cable between those 192's.
Besides regarding the analog in out it's all working perfectly for what i have to do with it so there is no urgency.


When i said i did some test it was with the digital cards : i tested all in out and they all worked nice.


In the mean time i am wondering why this digilink issue i might have should affect the I/O software configuration but i really am no specialist

Just buy some industrial alcohol and wipe the connectors of your short DigiLink cable, wiggle them a little on the connectors and try again. If it is because of bad connection that should fix it.
