Default Mbox 2 Mini Drivers OSX 10.9?

Avid, am I wasting my time waiting for a driver for the Mbox 2 Mini to work with the new OSX 10.9 software? Just would like to know if there will be a driver coming or not?

Thanks

Amazing customer service for the "industry standard" company. Really.... not even a comment?

I'm looking into it, I'll post back if I get any info I can forward on.

Thanks JoelG.

As for the community that's in a similar situation, I've moved onto a different interface so business can continue. Went with a Focusrite Scarlett 2i/2. I'll report it's working perfectly with OSX 10.9 and PT's 9.

Joel
I am using the Mbox 2 mini on Maverick. I just downloaded the most recent driver and it works ok for me.

You're the first i've heard that has been able to get playback with a Mbox 2 Mini using OSX 10.9.

This is with the 10.3.3 driver?

I haven't received a response yet, but going by the End of Support page, these should be supported through 2015:

Mbox 2 9/14/2015
Mbox 2 Micro 9/14/2015
Mbox 2 Mini 9/14/2015
Mbox 2 Pro 3/31/2016

If I hear anything, I'll post back.

Joel

I think that's the driver. It was the most recent one listed. I'm currently looking at upgrading from the Mbox as there are some issues such as sessions not giving sound if I leave them open over night. I just re started my iMac. Currently considering a 003. I'm very new to this stuff myself and I find it can be very frustrating.

I too I'm waiting for Avid and Focusrite to release a new driver. Here's the problem I get using my Digidesign MBOX2 PRO or my Focusrite Saffire LE with Mavericks 10.9.1:

Mac 27 inches , late 2012, Fusion Drive, 3,4 GHz Intel Core i7, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 Mo, OS X Mavericks 10.9.1

Audio interface:
Digidesign MBOX2 PRO Firewre 400 audio interface or Focusrite Saffire Le using a thunderbolt adaptor through a firewire 800/400 cable.

The problem : I’m on Apple.com via Safari 7.0.1 (latest version) watching the christmas add. (http://www.apple.com/#video-tv-spot). All is ok until...

I launch Garageband 10.0.1, (latest version) and the ad’s audio is full of clicks and pops.
I quit Garageband and the ad’s audio plays correctly.

I launch Logic Pro 9.1.8 (latest Logic 9 version) and the ad’s audio is full of clicks and pops.
I quit Logic Pro and the ad’s audio plays correctly.

I launch Reason 6.5 , the ad’s audio is full of clicks and pops.
I quit Reason and the ad’s audio plays correctly.

I launch Quicktime 10.3 (latest version) , the ad’s audio AND the Quicktime audio are full of clicks and pops.
I quit Quicktime and the ad’s audio plays correctly.
I relaunch Quicktime, the ad’s audio is again full of clicks and pops.
I quit Safari and the Quicktime audio is back to normal.

NONE OF THE ABOVE HAPPEN IF I USE FIREFOX (latest official version which is 32 bit)
NONE OF THE ABOVE HAPPEN TOO IF Safari runs with the Firefox agent selected! (in Develop mode)
ALL OF THE ABOVE USING THE BETA FIREFOX 64 BIT

Now, also, anytime something is playing in QuickTime 10 (64 BIT), the audio becomes full of clicks and pops the moment I launch Logic or Garageband or Reason
or Pro Tools. No problems using Quicktime 7 which is 32 bit.

Absolutely no problem using the iMac built-in audio interface.
