Default WAVEFORM IS WRONG!!!!

1. I recorded a pass.

2. Started to record new pass, and accidentally hit apple Z

3. PT asked, "Do you want to remove previous pass from disk", I thought sure, thats fine.

3. The waveform that took its place is WRONG.....my vocalist holds out a lonnnng note and it looks as if its normal dialoge.

If I consolidate the region it looks like it should, heck, it sounds like it should....but the waveform is all wrong. Did i do something to create this? I tried to re-create it but could never have it happen again. I feel like this isn't the first time. Just makes me feel like something is jacked up.....

anyone else seen this before??

G5, digi 002R, 7.3.1, 4gb of ram.

You are not the first to experience this. Here is a long thread about it. You should be able to "recalculate waveform overview" to fix it when it occurs. Apparently this doesn't work for everyone, but it's worked fine for me. YMMV.

thanks...the recalculate waveforms worked. I was just concerned cause I didn't see anyone on the forums experiencing that problem with 7.3.1 only 7.4

I've had it happen on occasion on many systems for many years. It seems to be happening more in 7.4, but hopefully that'll be sorted out in a rev or two. Digi is certainly aware of the issue at this point.
