Default Lexicon Plugins Huge Price Drops

I just found out that Lexicon has made huge price drops on their plugins.

PCM Native is now $599(!!), LXP is $199, and MPX is $99. Not every dealer may have updated their websites yet, but Sweetwater and Audiodeluxe have. In fact Audiodeluxe is discounting them even further, as other dealers may also.

I talked to a Sweetwater rep, and as far as he knows, these are permanent price drops, not some kind of Christmas sale, etc.

I'm assuming they are just trying to be competitive, like Waves and other companies, by making their prices more reasonable. And maybe they've recovered their R&D costs by now.

Or maybe they'll hit us up for paid upgrades to AAX.

Regardless, this is great news!

This is a great plugin so if it's on sale I'd strongly recommend it. I can't do without it these days.

I too suspect this sale is about the move to AAX, maybe gearing up toward an imminent release of PT 64Bit (I live in hope )

Anybody have any recent info as to whether Lexicon plans to continue development of Lexicon PCM Native? If it has a future, it would be a good value at the new price.

A few things concern me, though...

The lead developer has left and started a new company...

Also, the fact that news of the price drop isn't announced on the Lexicon website is troubling. (Actually, there is very little recent news at all on the website.)

I think I'd bite at the new price, but not if it's an end-run fire sale before the product is discontinued and receives no further updates.

It would be strange for a company to kill off a relatively new product, but Lexicon has a history of this.

Anyone have any good news??

I purchased LX native about 4 months ago and was speaking to the customer device guys on email and specifically asked them if these plugs would be ported to AAX - the answer was yes they were working on it

That's good news considering I just picked up the PCM Total Bundle!

I'm also looking forward to Michael Carne's (the Lex guy) new company and his plug-ins!

Thanks for the info YYR123!
