Pro Tools LE is mono only
I have recorded some tracks and when I try to pan any of these, the track does not respond. Is this something in the program not being approved for my OS or is it some dumb thing I'm over looking?

Re: Pro Tools LE is mono only
Give us a screenshot of your mix window. It's probably something you're overlooking.

Re: Pro Tools LE is mono only
you might also check to make sure there is no panning automation already written into the tracks

Re: Pro Tools LE is mono only
What do you mean when you say "the track does not respond?"
1. Do you mean the pan control slides or snaps back to where it was after you let go? Or do you mean you move the panner and there's no change in its left/right balance? 2. Is the sound just generally coming from the center? Or is it only coming from one speaker? Your mix window doesn't look weird except for the compressor you're sending to from bus 6. I'd assume you're doing some sort of parallel compression thing there, but since that signal would be centered, it could effect the image of whatever you're sending to it (if there's any sort of panning on the original). You'd hear some effect from that though, so that's probably not your culprit. |

Re: Pro Tools LE is mono only
The pan control does not snap back. The sound does not move to one side though. No response to movement.

Re: Pro Tools LE is mono only
Your mix window looks okay, in regards to panning and track outputs. Check your I/O settings.

Re: Pro Tools LE is mono only
Is this happening (or not happening) in more than just this session?
Try deactivating the all the plug-ins on the master fader and/or the whole master fader itself. Are your monitors connected to the monitor outputs on the Mbox2Pro? Just to verify, the sound is coming out of both monitors and isn't changing perspective when you move the pan control? |

Re: Pro Tools LE is mono only
Something to check, per your speculation that it might be something dumb... (Please, no offense if this thought is really TOO dumb!)
Are the stereo outputs of the Mbox 2 Pro connected 1) directly to powered monitors, or 2) via some sort of mixing board? If the answer is #2, is it possible that the signal coming from the Mbox 2 Pro is patched into two separate mixer channels, both of which are both panned dead center? |
