Default 'In-Clip' Shuffle Mode??

Hi,

Shuffle Mode accutally is great for cutting atmospheres or sound effects track, but is usless in a post-session, because everything after it moves.
is there a function/feature to use it 'in clip'? I mean, only selected/cutted clip moves but not all the rest on the timeline.
That would be great and much more faster instead of cut - move - cut - move...

The only options for Shuffle Mode I've found is Shuffle-Lock and unlock. Is there more??

Best

Guido

Does "snap to previous" work for you? (it's a "right-click on clip"-option).

hm.... it does what I want, but it makes not a fluent workflow. In shuffle mode it is done with one click with the trimmer.
It would be great if "snap to previous" can be onclicked. Maybe something for the ideascale....

If you use quickeys, it's super easy to make a shortcut to do just that (I have it and I use it daily): it's B (or command+E)[to separate the region] and then "snap to previous".

'control' and '+' or '-' nudges within the clip by the nudge amount. Does this do what you need?

No, but it's another great feature! Thank you for this, I thought that this was possible but I did't know how.

Maybe I should call the title of this thread 'in-file' shuffle mode that in-clip.
My idea was, if it's possible to edit a single file somewhere on the timeline with shuffle mode, but instead of slipping all clips behind the cut, only the clips belonging the the file slips. You know what I mean?

For example, I import an atmosphere-sfx, put it on a track on timeline. Because it's a raw-track, it needs to be removed some pops or other unwanted thing, so the fastest/convenient way would be shuffle mode: You can playback the track, if there is something to get out of it: stop - cut - adding crossfades - done. Every other way needs more steps like: play - stop - cut - move - add crossfades.
If this would be possible with shuffle mode, but not moving everything else on the track, which has nothing to do with this specific file, this would be a great thing.

Another workaround is to lock (Command L) the first clip that is AFTER the one you want to work in. By locking that clip, it prevents it and everything after it from moving when you use Shuffle on the one you wish to work in.

Double Clicking the space between the clips selects the space. Then CTRL Click the region to snap to the "end of the previous" / "Start of Space".

Or if it's just atmo that you want to bring together. Highlight all "good" regions. Press CTRL and pull the regions out of the bin on the track (Select "Left To Write" on the timeline order menu in the audio bin). Remove the regions after your selection. -- Depending on the ordering of your bin, the pulled regions are not in the same order, hence the advise, that this might be more suitable for atmos.

Maybe these is a more comfortable workflow.

This is it. It needs to lock a clip and it does what I want. Otherwise it's a good idea to work with shuffle on a workingtrack, so the chance of a desaster is also smaller.
Thank you for this, I'll try it.

But all in all: the function 'in-file-shuffle-mode' or so would be great
