Mbox Mini-Me Monitoring Latency
I'm aware that if I use the SPDIF inputs on the Mbox, from my Mini-Me, that I will no longer be able to direct monitor off the Mbox and there will be significant latency for overdubbing. But is there any other solution besides an outboard mixer? I did a search and noticed that one poster used a small Rolls mixer to monitor the headphone out of the Mini-Me, along with the Mbox out.
If I bought a Mini-Dac and monitored off that I would still have latency, right? Because the sound has to travel through the Mini-Me to the Mbox then in and out of the computer via USB then out to the Mini-Dac, so I'm still dealing with the inherent latency of USB? Basically, I just want a low-latency SPDIF interface to ProTools because I have outboard pres and converters. I don't need all the I/O of the 002R, but it seems like that's the only way to go. |

Re: Mbox Mini-Me Monitoring Latency
I have nuendo multiset as a front end to my mbox. It has dsp routing and 0 latency monitoring. Works like a charm, and no probs with anything. My mbox is basically one big USB-dongle now...

Re: Mbox Mini-Me Monitoring Latency
Anyone else using the Mbox as a SPDIF interface and monitoring overdubs off an outboard DA?
