Default Loud distortion from playback after reopening session.

I'm running ProTools LE 7.3.1 cs3 on intel Core Duo iMac Os X 10.4.9 with DIGI 002R and noticed that when I reopen my sessions after saving, tracks using DYN compressor are peaked out on the output level(without even playing anything) and I get LOUD sustaining distortion at playback. I almost went deaf! Fixing the Buffer size from 512 to 1024 did not fix this problem. I am recording to Lacie 500 GB firewire drive. I am afraid to start my sessions in fear of blowing my speakers or my eardrums. I did notice that when I took the compressor off, then reloaded them back on, this acted as a temporary fix, but problem persisted after saving and reopening.
What gives?

I take it you don't have a control room monitor piece. This is the exact reason you need it. Look into the mackie big knob. Its not great, but it works, and you won't ever have to deal with almost going deaf again.

I am gonna try increasing my RAM to 2GB then I'll see if that fixes it, if not, than it's probably a ProTools problem.

I've had similar experiences with the Expander/Gate though probably less frequent than yours. I suspect that this is, indeed, a bug as it only happens with this partticular plug.

Not really a fix but all I can suggest is open sessions with the monitor mute on (it is by default on start-up) and check the GUI.

OK so I got my 2GB Ram installed today. DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM! It seems that the distortion is coming from the D-Verb in my Aux Bus and on my tracks with the Dyn 2.0 Compressor on them. This is a ProTools problem. Can anyone think of a way to fix this problem??? I just got a record deal and I need to make and send Submixes of my tracks!!
