Why not use VST-Rewire adapter ?
I have been following the posts for the VST-RTAS adapter but why not use the VST-Rewire adapter ? With rewire you can use multiple outputs from say Battery and Kontakt. Rewire seems to run very stable in PT. Haven't seen or heard anyone using it.

Re: Why not use VST-Rewire adapter ?
Guys, help me out here...I am a little confused about what the difference is between the two. Their web site provides pretty much the same description for each one....they are both for VST instruments and plug ins. Also, does this have anything to do with using Reaktor with Pro Tools? If not, what do I need to run that?
Thanks for the info.... |

Re: Why not use VST-Rewire adapter ?
The RTAS adapter is now out, the ReWire one is not yet.
The main differences are:- RTAS adapter works with effects, ReWire one does not. ReWire adapter provides multiple outputs, RTAS one does not. The ReWire adapter also works with some other programs besides Pro Tools (e.g. Live). They are complementary tools; if you just want to get started with VSTs, the RTAS one is the better one to start with; if you're a power user and want multi outs etc., get both. |

Re: Why not use VST-Rewire adapter ?
If I were to get the VST-Rewire adapter, would I be able to, for instance, sequence something like Reaktor Session in Live? I'm looking at ways to compose with Reaktor on my Powerbook when I'm not at home plugged into my 002R with ProTools. Live as the multitracker and Reak as an instrument seems the best option...
