Is anyone using Pro Tools 8 LE with a Mac Book Air. I know they aren't officially supported, but wondered if anyone was finding them fine using the internal drive?

well, not sure on compatibility, but although a 5400rpm drive is not best, it should work. especially if you're only recording a few channels.

I have PT8 on my Air and use it on occasion for housekeeping, simple editing, importing/exporting, bouncing files and video etc. I've always played with unauthorized setups (in this case using USB drives as well as the internal drive) but you definitely don't want to do this as your primary rig. There are serious heat dissipation issues with processor-intensive tasks on this box because of the design (it will slow to a crawl to protect itself) and it's just not very robust. Yes it will work - no you won't be happy except for limited use. I have an HD system as well as LE on a Macbook Pro and Protools on the Air is like playing soccer in dress shoes. You can kind of do it if you're careful, but not very well (at least in my experience).
