Default Macbook Pro 2.4 vs. 2.5 and Pro Tools...

Hi All,

Im real close to my Macbook Pro purchase, but I would like to learn from those who know.......

Is there a big difference between the 2.4 and the 2.5 processor?

What about the 2.4 processor with 3 MB of cache......vs. the 2.5 with 6MB of cache?

Does that make a big difference?

I also heard the battery life is better on the 15.4" model, as opposed to the 17". True or false?

Also heard that working in Po Tools on the 15.4" provides adequate screen space for good work flow and that the 17" monitor doesn't give that much more added space to make much of a difference. True or false?

Also, with the 17" monitor there is much more shadowing on the extreme corners and sides of the screen due to its size and drain on the battery. True or false?

I'm trying to get as much knowledge as I can so that I can make the right purchase.

Your help very much appreciated!

Thanks So Much!

Default Re: Macbook Pro 2.4 vs. 2.5 and Pro Tools...

Hi, Ihave tried 2 laptop, one is 15" with 2.5 for office work and one is 17" with 2.4 my own. There is not obviouse different between them. But the 2.5" one has only 2GB, the 17" one has 4 GB RAM, So I can't give you very accurate suggestion.

Speak to the screen, I think 15" is enough. But I'd rather use 17" as I don't often take it out.

Battery is good for my 17" one. and I don't find any shadow at any conner.

But, Now I don't think Macbook pro is enough for my work. I'd rather to buy a destop.
