MTRX Studio / DADman - Midi Control

Hey Guys,

Is there a way to add MIDI control to any of the faders in DADman, specifically mapping a knob to control the main control room levels? Yes, I know there's a knob on the front of the box, or I could buy the MOM, but when there's lots of knobs that already exist in my studio that are more easily reached and already paid for, it'd be really nice to be able to do this. I see there's MIDI control of the pres, so I'd assume there's some amount of MIDI capabilities in the system.

Not currently. Options:

EUCON - Avid Control, Dock, S1, S4, S6.
MOM - Hardware Remote Control
MTRX ST - front panel assignable functions

or unauthorized MOM app on the app store.

cool you mentioned that unauthorized app. Tried the Mac and iPhone version of it. No luck connecting on either .. I really wish it would! And no instructions at all!

It would be spectacular if Digital Audio Denmark would be open to working with tools like SoundFlow to allow direct UI access. People have inquired about such cooperation on the SF forums for a few years now and so far, crickets.

It works fine here. Did you add it as a MOM controller?

It might be up to SoundFlow. Luke (creator of the MOM app) and Colin Broad have managed.

Unauthorized? I'd prefer unsanctioned (Seriously, if DAD or Avid would like me to remove the app, please just reach out.)

Colin had access to the protocol documentation from DAD. I did my own protocol analysis, but I don't have the bandwidth for the inevitable support burden that would result from sharing the code. (In my experience, even when you say it's unsupported, you still get support requests...)

You need to:

• download & start the MOM app
• allow it to access devices on your local network
• go to Device List in DADman and connect the iOS device
• go to the Mom tab in Monitor Profile Configuration in DADman, and select Add new MOM
• select Default Preset or create a new one to assign controls
