Default 12.7 Out of Memory with Empty Project

I just updated to Pro Tool 12.7 and I'm getting 100% memory usage with a brand new empty project.

My system specs are:

Macbook Pro (mid 2012) i7
16gig RAM
500 gig SSD & 1tb SSD in place of DVD drive
Mac OS Sierra

Activity monitor is showing about 9.5 gig of RAM being used and my disk cache is set at 2gb.

Any advice on why its saying my ram is maxed out and how to optmize performance with this latest version of Pro Tools? I've never had issues before with my macbook pro and recording.

I've attached screenshots as well.

Thank you for any help you guys can provide!!

Has to be something to do with your interface. Is that the latest driver?

I'm pretty sure. I just updated my Fireface drivers last week from RME. I'll check their site now though to see if other are having issues.

Edit: RME has a Sierra driver preview so I'll test it out to see it fixes the issue.

The newer drivers brought my initial memory usage with a blank project down to 60%.

I updated to Pro Tools 12.7.1 and my memory usage with a blank project is at 64%.

This is with my ram maxed out at 16gig.

My next question is that is there anything that can be done to reduce the amount of memory being consumed in OS Sierra with only Pro Tools and RME software open in a blank pro tools project?

I don't think so. It appears that the driver itself is a moving target, and PT software hasn't been the best performer since the jump to 64bit software

Yup, in my tests with 12.7 on a brand new OS build we had the same experience... If you need HDX to work with other wares, then don't go past 12.6.1

12.7 is not ready. We're beta testers now.

Also if you are not working with Video files, turn the Avid Video engine off.. it will just sit there taking up 2GB doing absolutely nothing if you have it checked on..

So bad.
Not Tremendous.
