Pro Tools 11 hangs up at "loading midi engine" step for 10 minutes

Pro Tools 11 hangs up at "loading midi engine" step for 10 minutes

When I load protools 11 with my Apollo Twin DAW on my macbook pro running mavericks, it hangs up at the step "loading Midi Engine" for ten minutes. Eventually it loads and works but this doesn't seem normal. What can I do to fix this?
