Sony DMX-R100 as PT transport control?

Is anybody sucessfully using the transport keys of a Sony DMX-R100 to control ProTools? How are you doing it, (i/e:Sony 9 pin/Digidesign Machine Control, MMC, etc.)? I don't need to control other machines with ProTools, I just want to control simple PT transport commands from my desk. Is Mach Con worth the money just for this function? Does it work any better than MMC? Does it work at all? I have heard it's buggy. Does midi machine control work at all? ....Will we go to war?....Why are we here?......What's the meaning of life?.......Why do we park in the driveway and drive on the parkway............. Sorry. Way to many questions.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I've had this same question since buying my DMX-R100. I've never wanted to spend $800 just to find out. I think Machine Control should be included with purchase of a SYNC I/O!

Ok......How about anybody who's using ANY controller that's NOT pre-listed by Digi; i/e ProControl, HUI, JLCooper, etc. We know these work, but what about anything else?
I know better than to ask, but maybe someone from Digi could jump in here?
