Default Re: Ryzen 32 core

I can't comment on AMD Ryzen, but others have it working.

My recent (June 2021) Intel build, though, is stable and crazy powerful. Great for Pro Tools: i9-11900K (5.1GHz on all cores) on a Z590 motherboard with 64GB RAM (DDR4@3600).

In my testing, Apple Silicon spreads the load as evenly as you could do with TDM systems manually. Even though not the most powerful beast out there, and not to mention not yet natively supported, this fully loaded M1 Mac Mini smokes 2013 Mac Pro out of the water. Unless, of course, you need more than 16GB of memory.

Cool, but I think chrisdee is asking about Intel vs AMD for a Windows build.

Yes, and I was commenting that whatever modern CPU you choose blindfolded is good enough if your storage and memory are on par with what you need to do.
