Command + spacebar not recording

My Spotlight search is disabled. I trashed a "apple.sybolichotkeys.plist" pref file because it worked for someone else. No luck for me.

Any idea why cmd+space isn't working? I think it started when I upgraded from PT9 to PT11.

The keyboard shortcut for spotlight has to be disabled separately from spotlight itself. You can do it in the "keyboard" system prefs pane.

I don't see any difference there. Are you talking about this?

Same here on rMBP running 10.10.4 and 11.3.2.

Same here. I've never figured out what's the deal with this until now. For me it helped deleting shortcuts for "Input Sources" under keyboard shortcuts.

This started happening on my system as well. Can't say if it started with 11.3.2. Wasn't able to get command-space back. The only fast way to hit record now is to use my Artist Control.



Update: JCHAN, thanks for the info. That fixed it on my system. Never noticed that setting. Is that something new?

Yes Ergalthema. That's what I was talking about. Clearly not your issue.

Did some further testing. This setting activates itself without further notice as soon as you define two different keyboard languages that you can switch to for example.

If you need the two keyboard layouts just uncheck the shortcuts.

Thanks for filling in with this info. I dont know how, when or why the dual keyboards appeared on my system.
