Default No More 9000 Errors In HD Native

I finally have my HD Natve Pro Tools 9.0.3 system running with no 9000 errors of any kind. It works great and now very stable on Windows 7 Pro ServicePack 1 X64. I can run my HD Native card down to 64 samples with no errors and I also have the MOB audio card on for windows sounds and other apps. Asio drivers are working with other apps as well, could use some improvements but running ok. I just wanted to give you guys some hope it is possible.

I found that my main problem was my Nvidia Video Card Software not the drivers. when you install Nvida drivers you have to go to the advance tab to uncheck all additional options and select drivers only. I't took me awhile to get to the issues by removing all pci cards and installing back one by one untill I found were the problems were coming from. I also set MOB Bios to defaults no overclocking. I followed all the Windows 7 optimizations for audio
and turned off Aero. Here Is A List of my system. (Self Build)

MOB-MSI MS-7522 X58 Pro-E Intel

Ram 12GB DDR3 1600 Kingston 3x 4GB sticks

Video Card Nvidia Geforce GT430 1GB Ram

Harddrives (system) 1 Western Digital VelociRaptor 300GB 10,000RPM
1 Seagate 300GB 7200rpm and 1 Seagate 1TB 7200rpm

Processor Intel Cor i7-950 Processor 8 Logical Cores
(8M Cache, 3.06 GHz, 4.80 GT/s Intel® QPI)

Audio Harddware HD Native Card and HD/IO 16x16 digital with Tascam 32CH
Digital Board using TDIF and Word Clock HD/IO 16x16 as master clock.

3X UAD Cards (Had to set RTAS processor count to 1) will work @ 4 cores.

My HD/IO is running 16CH in and out simultaneously with superb digital quality.

I'm a happy man!

Hope this helps.

This is an interesting post and something worth keeping for reference. In the 10+ years of building systems for native DAWs, I've never installed the Nvidia software, only the drivers. I'm now starting to wonder how many systems may be resolved by looking into this area. Nonetheless, well done on your trouble shooting.

Shane

Sorry for taking so long to respond. I have been working on a project getting ready for mastering.

No problem sure.

Glad to help.

The unwritten rule as far back as I can remember was to let Windows install the stock WDM drivers for either Nvidia or ATI cards for DAW use. I guess he didn't know because it was unwritten.

Pretty much what I do here. I have installed the ATI software at various times and haven't had any problems.

Hey Zion

PT HD Native System

Just built a new system using exactly the same components on the PC side as your build. The only different component I have is an AVID Omni.

PT 9.03 hangs during boot just after message (in PT HD boot window) says DAE Loaded. The blue circle just spins for ever.

Any ideas?

Thanks

PT 9.03 works fine here. I would try and re-install PT 9.03 software

P.S. It could be a bad plug-in.

Try holding N down on start up and use ASIO4ALL to switch Playback Engines to HD Native.
