I don't understand the question (S1 vs Dock / Control part). I tried creating a Custom Inserts map on the Control app, and those don't translate to the S1, the S1 keeps displaying the default order. EQ Custom map doesn't help as the Dyn Range parameters are not available (although it would be preferable due to the naming of the bands).

However, I figured out an ok'ish workaround, where I have a Inserts Custom map with just the Dyn Range controls (in Control/Dock) as 2x4, when clicking the plugin in Pro Tools this would open the EQ maps on my S1's AND this Custom Map on the Dock/Control (so normal EQ on the S1 knobs and dyn EQ on the Dock knobs) with the "Show EQ/Dyn Plugins on Surface as inserts if there is a custom map" setting on.

It worked for a while, but I think I encountered a bug, as this configuration crashes EuCon very often (EuControl app quits and surfaces missing, also PT shows the red light even after a EuCon restart and seemingly functioning surfaces) - possible related to the fact that some of my EQ's don't have the "7 band" preset loaded (but just one HPF) or somesuch (session created before moving to EuCon)?

There are two map types 1x8 and 2x4. One for the S1 one for the Dock. If you are creating a 2x4 it will not show on the S1. pg 110 https://resources.avid.com/SupportFi...s_v2024.10.pdf

Okay - right, I had missed that tidbit and can try a custom 1x8 Inserts map that replicates the stock EQ map but with the Dyn Range parameters included.

Although I already liked my "mixed" workflow using a 2x4 Custom Inserts map on the Dock/Control with the Stock EQ map on the S1's - if it just didn't crash EuCon...

You can make a Dock and an S1 map. What's crashing, Avid Control? If so we have a fix for that later this week 24.10.1

Whole Eucon crashes. And it does so also when using only the 1x8 S1 map (I deleted the 2x4 map) - clicking on a Fabfilter EQ is a moderately large chance of crashing Eucon right now, it seems that I need to revert from using the Custom Map at all right now (which is a massive shame, as it worked for a while without crashes and I got into a good groove with just the Inserts Custom map, with Dynamic Range mapped as a secondary for band Gain, otherwise mimicing the EQ mapping...)

Edit: Although I'm not sure if it's exclusive to FF (only EQ I've tried it with) or just the "Show EQ/Dyn Plugins on Surface as inserts if there is a custom map" setting.

Can you tell me both the versions of EuControl(Help/About) and Avid Control (gear icon/about). So when you say tyhe whole of EUCON, you mean EuControl and Avid Control or?

I guess it could be just EuControl that crashes? But surfaces and control apps lose connection with PT and EuControl dissapears from the System Tray, but Eucon Client and Avid Control Desktop stay.

I'm not in the room so cannot see Avid Control versions until a few hours, but they are the 2024.10 Android versions released last week, the pads have not connected to the internet since. EuControl Windows version (I just checked with remote connection) is 2024.10.0.19.

Since writing the last post, I updated Pro Tools from 2024.6 to 2024.10.1 (with the Windows Alt-Tab bug fixed), will resume working with the updated system in a few hours, but I won't try using the Custom Map again before the new EuCon update lands (need to get work done, this EuCon crashing always interrupts the flow).

Avid Control (2 different Samsung tablets, both Android 14 one master, one meter) is 2024.10.0.367.

We tested this here(even with your mapping) and its rock solid. There must be something else at play as many use this plugin and custom maps. Can you right click on the EuControl Icon up top and select collect logs. Then upload them somewhere and PM me a link. Thanks

Also what version of the plugin are you using?

One thing to try if you haven't, is using the EUCON installer select remove all apps and remove all prefs. Reboot and Install just the top check box (EuControl)
