Unable to import PCM files....
So I was given some PCM files of sound effects. I need to get these into PT8 and improve upon them. Why can't I import them? Isn't PCM a raw WAV file? Anyway, please tell me how to pull this off. I can convert them if needed.
it would be great to simply play these files! Are there any app suggestions?????? |

Re: Unable to import PCM files....
Try changing the extention to .wav and see what happens
No guarantees, but WAVs and PCMs are related (I belive its more or less a difference in the header/coding container, or rather lack of for PCM). On that note, BWAV/BWF is the exact same thing as WAV, used interchangeably, the only difference from WAV being it has an extra RIFF data chunk for storing metadata such as timecodes, source, scene, etc |

Re: Unable to import PCM files....
PCM files are usually raw, headerless audio, which is why you can't import them - without the header, Pro Tools doesn't know how to open them.
Hitsquad likely has an editor that can open a PCM file and export it as WAV... |
