File sharing between Mac and PC
I'm a PC user about to get a G4 based Mix3 system. I currently have cable modem Internet access with a Linksys router. Windows allows me to do peer to peer file sharing.
What is the best way for me to do mixed OS file sharing along with internet access via cable modem? Do special cross platform hybrid hub/routers exist? TIA |

Re: File sharing between Mac and PC
Ok, I hope this helps...
I do this ALOT in my studio... I am running 3 PC's and a MAc with PT Mix. I also have DSL and a linksys DSL Router.. Here is what you do. Connect all the pc's and Mac to the hub, Connect the hub to the cable or dsl modem. As far as the software...this is important. I use DAVE on the Mac and setup all the PC's as Microsoft Family Logon and set the workgroup to the same name. With the DAVE program the mac reads the microsoft network FLAWLESSLY. It is really wonderful... I have all the Computers talking to each other and they all have internet access. Look into it, it has saved me HOURS.... I hope this helps a little.
