I orderd mine from MacMall and I just checked my orders status: backordered.
I called and they said that their cutoff time was 7pm PT, so there's a few more hours to go here on the east coast.
I sincerely hope they ship it today, I really need this thing by the weekend!

Mine shipped from Apple too! Ordered it on 9/22, was told it would ship on 9/29. But then I got an email saying that the ship date had to be pushed back to 10/06.

BUT! Today I opened an email saying it, indeed, did ship (9/30)! Love it! I can't wait...

Which config did you guys have built?

I had another free 512mb of ram installed, but I'm sticking with the standard 4200 rpm drive, as I use my LaCie FW for all things audio. When not at home, I'll just be using Reason and Live, which the 42k drive can handle no problem. I also got the Apple Care and an additional AC adapter. I will eventually get the docking station to make the peripheral pluggin'/unpluggin' process easier.

I'm also shopping for a good bag/case for it.

Don't these new powerbooks ship with 10.2.7, which is untested/unsupported?

Don't mean to put a crimp in your day, but i hear that you can't run anything prior to 10.2.7 on them, which will hose you for doing anything with Pro Tools, which I also hear isn't working with anything higher than 10.2.6 right now.

Well, yes, I got the dreaded email from MacMall.
They estimate another 1 to 2 weeks!!!
Pissed? Yeah, I'm very pissed. I ordered it a week ago, shipping date was due today, the 30th. I was fine with that. Now on MacMall's site, they say "Now Shipping" just below the PB ads, yet they also state "Order now and we will ship by October 2nd". That's already two different quotes, then the email I get says "another 1 to two weeks". Well, which is it? I'm seriously thinking about cancelling my order and just walk down to the Apple store in SoHo and get it.
