Default Setting Up a Midi device in PT9

OK, I admit it up front I am a guitarist and I am midi illiterate. I installed all of the software for my Korg Nano Key (Korg driver software and the specific driver for the nanokey). It is a USB powered device. PT( does not seem to be able to find the controller even though my compuyter knows i is there....the PT9 manual is of no help.... can some one provide me some assitance? Thanks in advance!!!

It would be helpful to know whether you're on Windows or Mac, and what other interfaces you have connected, if any. Also, to clarify, you're saying you went to the Setup menu, MIDI -> Input Devices, and it's not in the list? And to MIDI -> MIDI Studio, and it's not listed there?

It's OK to be a midiot. We all were once.

I still AM(knowing just enough to be dangerous). In any case, daeron80 is on to what I suspect is the right track. Open a PT session(or just open PT) and go to Setup>Midi>Midi Studio. Create a new instrument and select brand and model(not critical and could actually be left blank), name it whatever you like, select the input port(this is the important step). Hopefully, KorgNano on USB(or something to that effect) will appear on the list. Once that is done, you should be able to close the Midi Studio window and have working midi
