Anyway the problem I have is that on my old desktop Phenom X2 I could run my projects with 128 latency but now on a really small project (3 channels, 1 vacuum bass synth, 2 d-verb and 2 digidesign compressors) I can't get it to run from my internal disk which I could on my desktop. Would you guys recommend me using an external usb-2 disk (my laptop doesn't have firewire or usb-3) or how would you recommend me to fix this? I've done everything that Avid recommends when it comes to tweaking windows and have no other programs running. Thanks for taking the time to reading my post! /Johan

Re: Can't get my pro tools le 8.05 working properly
Couple of problems:
1) Your system disk is only 5,400 RPM. Pro Tools requires a physically separate hard drive - not a partition - and the drive needs to be a minimum of 7,200 RPM. The Western Digital Caviar BLACK 64 mb cache drives are a forum favorite right now. And yes, you can - and Avid recommends - using a USB external with Windows 7. 2) You have one 4 gb stick of DDR3 RAM listed. The only way that is going to run at DDR3 speed that I'm aware of is if there are 3 sticks of RAM. Not sure what speed your RAM is running at with just one stick. Cheers,
