Create custom plugin folder
Pardon me if this was covered... I searched and did't see any posts...
Is there a way to create custom plugin folder(s) to store all your go-to plugins? Currently there is folders/lists by type (EQ-Dynamics-Reverb...) and manufacturer, and I know you can add you favorites at the top by command clicking plugs. But I was wondering if it's possible to make your own custom folders and name them. Thank you in advance for your help |

Re: Create custom plugin folder
Sadly, there is no decent way to do this. Best advice beyond Cmd-click(Ctrl-click on PC) to create a list of favorites is:
1-remove plugins that you never use(to the Plugins(unused) folder) 2-for combinations you use a lot-save as Track Presets

Re: Create custom plugin folder
I like it! More customizability in the plugins menu, please.
Shouldn't be too difficult. Plugin sets.

Re: Create custom plugin folder
I have been asking for this as well. Although I gave up on switching to Cubase, that was one of the features I really liked in the DAW. There are a few requests for Custom Plugin Lists (all worded differently) on the Pro Tools Feature Requests "Lounge" on Avid Link. Go give them all a thumbs-up. Maybe it'll get on the list.
I wouldn't expect any new features until they get the Apple Silicon Native builds released and stable, tho.

Thank you Albee, I did remove unused a while back and will use the feature given. Would be great and probably an easy thing to add Avid.

Re: Create custom plugin folder
As a work around, when I go yo a mix facility and want to use my plugins, I rename the Plugin folder something else (<Facility name> Plugins), then make a new Plugin folder and install my plugins.
The first time is a PITA - Either dragging all my plugins and associated files over, or installing from scratch - but after that it’s just a matter of renaming my new folder (<my name> Plugins) and naming the facility plugins folder back to Plugins when I leave to get them back, and reversing the process next time I go there. |
