Default Legacy Blues(PT 7 LE - PT 6 TDM on same system?)

I can't imagine I'm the only person in this position. I run PT 6.4 TDM with my Mix hardware. It's gotten to the point where I have clients that are running PT7 (LE) and i'm I'm wallowing several versions back. Most embarrasing is if they have something in Protools for me, I have to have them save the session as a PT 6.

Is there a feasible way to run TDM and LE on the same system? Under different users? Or do I need to partition my drive?

Thanks

Simply create a new boot drive and install LE. A FWire drive is inexpensive. I also have LE loaded on my laptop, and if I need LE on my G4 I put the laptop into FW target mode and boot the G4 from that. Works fine.

Any suggestions? I loaded PT 6.4 LE on a separate partition. When I launch it, it asks me to choose any interface. My MBox is not an option-the 882 is. If I take out the MIX card, Protools recognizes the MBox. Is this anyone else's experience.

Thanks for the reponse Simon.

As I suggested, this is the only way. 2 drives (or partitions) with a system on each. One with LE and one with TDM. This will work.

Hi Simon,

Are you using an Mbox with LE or one of the other interfaces? I've seen some info saying that Mbox can't coexist with PCI TDM hardware in the same machine.

Thanks again
