Clear Selected removes unselected files? 6.4.1MIX

I posted this in the post-forum, but realize I'd like a broader perspective on this as it affects all. I noticed that 'Clear Selected' can sometimes also remove files which aren't selected. In my estimation this could be quite disasterous.

Have many experienced this? Has Digi addressed it? How can one clean-up a session using 'select unused regions'>'clear selected' knowing other files might unknowingly be removed?

Any thoughts on this are greatly appreciated.

I just moved my MIX system 5.1(os9) to 6.4.1(osX of course), but with a bug like this which will likely not be addressed with MIX's legacy status, I may go back to 5.

This was addressed in a later version of Pro Tools, but I believe the changes were too invasive for a cs version.

To avoid the problem with 6.4.1, I believe if you "view all" in the region bin before deleting files from disk that you will be ok.

You mean to tell me I can lose files in 6.4.1 unless I visually check all the selected files to be deleted first?My regions list is pretty big sometimes...that would be a total pain.
Sorry if I'm misunderstanding this.If this is true then this is not a good way to leave the last version of this software...I would expect a fix.

I have a dual boot g4 with both 5.1 and 6.4. There do not seem to be many advantages to the OSX system with mix apart from graphics. In fact I'm leaning towards using the OS9 more until I upgrade to HD. 5.1 seems more stable for me and at least I can use the Lexiverb.

Unfortunately it's still happening on 6.9.1 for example.

And please add "select all muted regions" command! At the end of post production I have tracks full of alternative takes and fx. I would like to remove them using a single command, to make a much smaller archive copy of the session.

I think the version Mr. Caccavo is referring to is v7.0.
