Default 002 Help (continued)

Sorry - I posted this on the Mac side instead of the Windows side.

To reiterate my issue. When I turn the 002 on the 1394 LED is flashing. When I load Pro Tools it works ok, the 1394 LED stops flashing and stays on for about 5 mins when I get a message saying I have disconnected the Digi Hardware, and to turn it back on and restart PT.

I don't think this is the Power harness issue as I had a quick look and the pins looked very clean, but I don't know. Serial Number ends in G. Also, I can turn the Mute LED on and off at will even after it has failed. I have tried switching firewire cables to no avail. The unit worked perfectly for many years in XP under Pro Tools 7. I have fairly recently upgraded to Windows 7 and am now running Pro Tools 8.04. I have never successfully run PT since upgrading to Windows 7.

My setup is as follows:

Default Re: 002 Help (continued)

I'm not 100% convinced but I think I might have fixed it.

After researching why my command 8 wasn't working in those 5 mins before PT died, I found that apparently the fix for that was to simply run PT in XP compatibility mode.

Not only did it fix my Command 8 problem, but I no longer get the flashing 1394 LED of doom. I haven't run a proper session yet but the early signs had no problems for about half hour - a good deal longer than before.

Were you running as administrator? Not doing so can cause many erratic issues.
