Default New desktop Avid Interface - MBOX Studio

They have been teasing it on social media for a few days now. Looks like they might be chasing after the UAD Twin market. Due 19/10.

Yes. I'm curious, but not hopeful that it will be the replacement for my HD Native/HD IO. Looks like it'll be great for a segment of the market.

Well at least they are consistent about being inconsistent.

Design matches nothing they make and is garish to look at.

(I still can't get over that between the SyncX, Carbon, and MTRX Studio they couldn't agree on fonts or buttons or branding)

Looks like something JoeCo, Chord, or Keith McMillen would make.

Consistency? Heck will it support AVB or Dante expansion? Integrate with Carbon? MTRX? MTRX Studio?

Seems just what Avid needs, a return to flogging low-end hardware they can't market or support.

What is it with management of this company?

You would think if it were anything more than a cheap USB interface aimed at Intro/Artist users or educational institutes, Avid would have considered the whole AVB/S1/Dock/S3 form factors for a desktop device.

They'd be smart to do so (though other companies have a big head start). I'm still trying to figure out what this thing is/does. Time will tell.

The re-amp jack is a really interesting addition. (Front bottom left - “Hi-Z To Amp”

Indeed. I wish that was more common on interfaces.

How are you reading that text? The image in the first post is so fuzzy for me.

I don't know if I am just doing something wrong, but that always seems to happen when I attach something. Even 1080p screenshots of the Pro Tools GUI end up with text that is hard to read.

In any case, the two videos are up on the Pro Tools youtube page. The first they released 5 days ago. Then another around 12 hours ago.
There is also a 'Tune' button on the interface, and a bluetooth button. Seems to have quite a decent monitor section including talkback.

I was hoping for an AVB remote for Carbon
Hitting AES in NYC tomorrow. I'm sure they will have it there to see.
Also anyone not attending AES, if you have any questions for Avid, let me know. They are usually pretty approachable and I know a lot of those guys
