I've not tested this yet, but if you download the driver for the MTP USB model from MOTU then download the Stealth MIDI plug-in for Mac OS X from http://www.geethree.com/ (in the downloads section) you might have some success. Again I have not tested yet cause I am in the middle of a project. Let me know your results though.

Thanks

Hello
OS 10.2.4 and 2 MTP's
PT-6TDM & PT6LE (Two Computers sharring
2 MTP's

One MTP-USB (connected to my powerbook and the other MTP11 connected to my G4 tower's Stealth port. (OSX Port and MIDI drivers)
Both MTP's connected as network. (16 midi I/O)
All works as intended when in Protools from my powerbook (USB connection)
All works with some limitations from the tower serial connection (PT6TDM).
Primarily due to the MOTU Clockworks application. In OSX clockworks only sees the MTP-USB from my PBook.
Clockworks does not see my setup from the G4 tower stealth Serial
But, OSX core midi (G4 Tower) does see all 16 midi connections with the stealth midi driver and MIDI patchbay (Freeware) does allow me to reconnect where needed.
(including Reason Midi & beat clock)
Eventually though I will get another MTP-USB
For now I can work A-OK

I have successfully used my MTP AV (serial) with PT6 along with the OSX drivers and suggestions here. I thought I was going to have to replace my MTP with a USB version. Nada !

Thanks to everyone.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">If it is a serial device, you should be able to use it. If you have the correct serial port driver (for your serial port - Stealth or Gport), the serial port does not care what serial MIDI device you use. It will not be auto-detected (like the USB models are), but you can create a generic device yourself in the settings.
