Changing track height causes beachball
Is anyone else having this issue? I can't see any threads here.
When I change track height, either using Ctrl - up arrow, or 'E', my machine pauses, beachballs for 1-2 seconds and then makes the change. Massive time waste and slowly driving me mad. This is happening on two systems, both running 2022.5.0, on Monterey. One Mac mini and one MacBook Pro. Cheers for any help. |

Re: Changing track height causes beachball
Works here fine on Monterey 12.5b2 and PT 2022.5.
I'm on an MBP M1 Max 16" - you don't say whether you are using M1 or Intel or which version of Monterey. Dominic

Re: Changing track height causes beachball
Thanks Dominic
MacBook Pro is an M1 Max with 64gb of RAM. Mac mini is 3.2Ghz, 6 Core, i7 with 64gb of RAM. Monterey is 12.4 on both machines. |

Re: Changing track height causes beachball
I can't promise, but I think the upgrade from 12.4 to 12.5b2 is unlikely to explain the difference - and I can't recommend you upgrade to a beta verson of Monterey if you are doing commercial work. Having said that, 12.5b2 is working very well.
Have you tried a new session with no plugins? Dominic

Re: Changing track height causes beachball
I've tried a couple of OS' and not difference and tried a session with one track and no plugins and it's still doing it.
Opened a ticket with Avid, so hopefully I'll get to the bottom of it. Cheers |

Re: Changing track height causes beachball
Have been told by Avid this is a known bug and will hopefully be sorted soon.

UPDATE - I was told this was a known bug, but I wasn't told there was a simple workaround, which would've saved me a huge amount of time and frustration. Three weeks of continuing to deal with this issue when there was an easy solution. Amazingly bad customer service. |

You want to share that simple work around to help others avoid wasted time and frustration?
