Default Redbook standard CD\'s?

Is the only way to prepare a CDR as a professional master for duplication to use MasterList? Are there any alternatives? What is the diffence between a MasterList CD and a simple burnt CDR of a mix?

Regarding mastering programs, get a Waves C4. Truly amazing. Or, if you´re on a budget, T-Racks is good also.

Although I use Jam myself, IMHO, Emagic's Waveburner is by far the most advanced Redbook CD burning software available (never used SADIE, however). You get actual graphically-designed crossfades, for instance.

If I were buying now, I would probably get Waveburner Pro instead of Jam. Jam is very solid, just a little stodgy, with a dated interface.

Just make sure to buy a burner that is supported by the software. I believe both apps now support some USB burners.

I always have the Waves C4 followed by the L1+ on the master fader insert when doing my own "pre-mastering". I am continually impressed by both of those plugins.
