pro tools 8.1 won't create new file
I installed pro-tools 8.1 on windows 7 with my original mbox. It starts out fine, but when I try to create a new file I name it and click save and nothing happens. It just sits there no matter how many times I click it. I tried starting from a blank session and tried a template both and they won't work.

and when I try to open an old session it gives me the error message "Could not complete open session... command because vector<t> too long

I think you might want to upgrade to 8.0.5: http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...nload/en393651 I dont think 8.0.1 had Windows 7 support.

I'll double check, are you using Pro Tools 8 LE? I do see that it says unsupported, but that might not mean it doesn't work..
