32 I/O with SC48 would be awesome!! I know the people who bought HDx would get all bummed out and start throwing rocks, but I would really like 32 I/O!
HDx is for people needing more than 32. We did put a 64 channel system to our D-Show thinking it will rarely be used anywhere close to its limits but in this concert hall it's installed I almost always am maxing out all the 64 inputs running to tape. So 32 would be good but for the SC48 users and should not be considered a HDx killer in any ways IMHO. With SC48 we already can do 32 track recordings but with going analog out to analog in of the recorder and its clumsy and stupid. I'm hoping we will get the 32 track recording with FWx soon!

32 channels through firewire isn't going to "kill" the HDx option...because of many reasons, but mainly virtual soundcheck. I doubt seriously if they add 32 channels to firewire, it still would not do virtual soundcheck properly.

When I purchase VENUE's in the future, I would always get an HDx option with ProTools HD...unless they come up with something better.

Pro Tools HD Authorization
A Pro Tools HD 9.0 authorization lets you run Pro Tools HD 9.0 on a supported Mac or Windows computer with Pro Tools|HD or Pro Tools|HD Native hardware. A Pro Tools HD 9.0 authorization also authorizes Pro Tools with Complete Production Toolkit 2 functionality on supported Mac or Windows systems without Pro Tools|HD or Pro Tools|HD Native hardware.

So if we bought PT LE 8 within the last month, are we SOL? Got our SC48 about 4 weeks ago and was curious to know if there is any kind of auto update for those of us who just recently bought LE 8? Thanks!
