Default audio disruptions every 60 seconds

I'm new to protools and just started using the tool with version 11. No matter what project I have open, roughly every minute I get a disruption in the audio, whether it is playing back, recording or even just running a click track. Having the resource window open, the processor section goes to 100% right as this happens. The microsoft proc monitor does not agree, so don't know what that means. I have tried every Windows 7 optimization I can find on the internet, including any BIOS adjustments.

I'm running win 7 64 bit sp 1 on an i7 4770k with Asus Z87-A motherboard. I have more than enough horsepower and resources to handle any of the tests I've performed. Using Eleven Rack is my interface.

Any ideas?

Have you done the required optimizations?
Do you have any demo plugins?
How are your hard drives connected? Are they non-green drives?
How much ram do you have?
Do you have any programs running you shouldn't while using PT?
Do you have any kind of wireless network connection active while running PT (you shouldn't)?

It seems I had something strange going on with my PCIe wireless card. After re-trying disabling it and re-opening pro tools and doing several iterations of this I finally have glitch free operaton while my wireless network adapter is disabled. Sweet! Not sure why it didn't work at first, but looks good now.

Thanks everyone.

Glad you got it sorted. Getting Windows to permanently shut something down can be a trying experience - been there done that. One of the things with wireless and any network connection really is polling of the device by the network as it can interrupt whatever other processes are going on at the time. If it has a higher priority than something else then it'll shove other processes out of the way temporarily.

Another working Haswell system.
You might want to run the DPC latency checker to see if any other drivers might cause issues.
Have you run the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility performance test?
This lets you compare your system to others with the same parts, settings etc.

Could be lots of things. What exact model Mac are you running? Are you running with a separate drive for PT to record to? Have you properly optimized your setup? You don't give enough info on what you're doing, what you're working with, plugins, etc.

I've tracked it down to having the internet connected.
How can I find out what internet activity is occurring every minute to cause this interruption?

Doesn't matter what net activity is causing the problem the simple answer is to disconnect the internet cable or shut down your wireless. There's no need for it when working inside PT.
